Possible Applications
When a body‑in‑white arrives at the paint shop and the next vehicle on the line calls for a different exterior shade, the color‑change valve swings into action. Mounted directly downstream of the paint reservoir and upstream of the robotic spray gun, it diverts the flow to the selected pigment cartridge, allowing the system to switch from, for example, a metallic red to a matte gray in a matter of seconds. The valve’s quick‑acting piston isolates each color circuit, so the paint line does not have to be flushed between batches, dramatically cutting changeover time and keeping the conveyor moving. In a typical assembly hall, the valve is linked to the plant’s PLC, which triggers the shift as soon as the vehicle identification code reaches the paint stage. The same principle is used on component‑level paint stations, such as door‑frame or trim‑part lines, where multiple finishes are produced on the same equipment. By handling the fluid routing, the valve makes it possible to finish a batch of blue sedans and immediately start a batch of silver SUVs without interrupting the flow.
