During the hydraulic control stage of a steel mill’s continuous‑casting line, the micro‑processor‑equipped busbar module is mounted on the main hydraulic panel to act as the central distribution point for pressure and flow to the downstream cylinders. By interpreting commands from the plant’s control system, the module synchronises the opening of multiple hydraulic valves that drive the strand‑straightening rollers, mould‑cooling pumps and draw‑down mechanisms. Its built‑in processor continuously measures pressure, temperature and flow, then adjusts valve positions to keep each actuator within its target range, which prevents overloads and reduces wear on the pistons. Because the busbar aggregates several hydraulic circuits into a compact, plug‑in unit, maintenance crews can isolate a single line for inspection without shutting down the entire plant, cutting unplanned downtime. The same concept is also applied in heavy‑plate rolling mills where precise hydraulic actuation is required for bending and shaping operations.
