Possible Applications
In high-speed stamping presses, the force sensor must report every impact within milliseconds—yet the sensor itself sits inside a moving ram where oil, swarf, and constant vibration would quickly degrade a standard wire. The solution is a purpose-built signal transmission lead that bridges the gap between the sensor and the press control. This lead carries the raw force readings from the die’s load cell to the machine’s monitoring system, allowing operators to detect misfeeds, cracked punches, or worn tooling before they cause scrap or damage. Because the lead is clamped directly to the ram, it must flex with every stroke without fatiguing, while shielding the signal from the electromagnetic noise of servo drives and contactors. In progressive dies, the same lead often loops through the tool’s upper shoe, following the sensor’s path as the press cycles, ensuring continuous feedback during blanking, piercing, and forming. When die makers retrofit older presses with modern force monitoring, this lead becomes the critical link that turns raw sensor data into actionable alerts, reducing unplanned downtime and extending tool life.
