Possible Applications
When a body shop needs to verify that a chassis bracket has reached the exact spot before a spot‑welding gun fires, a fast, non‑contact detection is mandatory. The photoelectric proximity sensor is mounted just above the entry of the welding cell, aiming at the bracket’s side surface. As the bracket passes, the sensor’s light beam is interrupted and a reliable pulse is sent to the controller, which then authorises the welding current. This simple check prevents accidental strikes on empty fixtures, reduces scrap, and keeps the line moving without manual inspection. The same principle is applied on robotic paint stations, where the sensor confirms the presence of a door panel before the spray nozzle opens, guaranteeing that paint is applied only when the part is correctly positioned. In the steel sector, a similar installation monitors the arrival of a hot‑rolled coil at a flattening press, allowing the press to start only after the coil is securely in place. The sensor’s ability to sense objects through dust‑filled air makes it ideal for these high‑throughput, safety‑critical steps.
