Possible Applications
In a high‑speed stamping press the electromagnetic clutch is installed between the drive motor and the die carrier, acting as the decisive link that transfers torque only when the die is ready to close. When the control system signals the start of a forming cycle, the clutch engages instantly, synchronising the rotation of the carrier with the motor so the die can be positioned with the precision required for tight tolerances on sheet metal. During the dwell phase the clutch holds the carrier steady, allowing the forming tools to apply pressure without any slip, which protects both the tooling and the workpiece. As soon as the stroke is completed, the clutch releases, letting the carrier retract quickly and preparing the machine for the next part without a full motor stop. This rapid engage‑release action shortens cycle time, reduces mechanical stress, and improves overall productivity on die‑making lines. The same clutch type is also found in material‑handling conveyors used by plant operators, where it provides smooth start‑stop control for belt drives, helping to coordinate loading and unloading sequences.
