The device is mounted on the side frame of a conveyor module and, under PLC control, draws the carrier into the feeding zone, synchronising its motion with the upstream feeder. By delivering a smooth, repeatable pull, the winch eliminates jerky starts that could misalign product, allowing the line to maintain cycle times of several seconds per unit. In robotic assembly cells, the same winch is used to tension cable guides that move large tool carriers, ensuring the cable remains taut while the robot rotates. The consistent tension prevents cable slack that would otherwise cause wear or positional drift. Because the winch can be programmed for precise travel distances, it is also employed in automated storage‑retrieval systems to lower and raise pallets within narrow aisles, giving the warehouse controller exact control over pallet height without manual intervention.
