A virtual cross-company warehouse;
A virtual cross-company warehouse
The possibility of setting up virtual warehouses jointly between several companies, even competing ones, but managing common materials, products or sales or purchase elements, in order to save inventories, achieve economies of scale in procurement, simplify administrative management and improve the quality of customer service, with a payback period of relatively short duration, less than three years. This possibility was made reality by UNITEC, an Italian company with a presence in Germany, based in Gersthofen, and in Italy, based in Sabaudia.
This company has previously developed a management software, called Virtual Logistic Platform, equipped with special mathematical algorithms, capable of managing joint procurement and sales between several companies, controlling the accounting operations, carrying out the corresponding document operations and supplying the stocks of such a warehouse.
The management software developed by UNITEC actually allows the management and modernization of the various warehouse operations and withdrawals, with controlled and paid invoices, while the customer company only receives a monthly invoice for all this.
This results in a number of advantages, including the elimination of reorders, stocking according to the actual needs of each company, on-time delivery and the reduction or elimination of controls on individual accounting operations.
As far as procurement is concerned, this system makes it possible to carry out cumulative operations, resulting in better purchasing conditions. In addition, in emergencies, material balances can be carried out between different customers, with inventory originally intended for another customer being made available to the one who requested it. This type of operation also makes it possible to reduce stocks and thus obtain another economic advantage.
