An interbusiness virtual warehouse
The possibility of designing virtual warehouses in common between several companies, including competitors, which, however, manage materials, products or any common sales or purchasing elements, in order to save supplies, obtain economies of scale in purchases, simplify administrative management and improve the level of service to customers, obtaining, in a relatively short time, less than three years, a return on investments. This possibility was made real by UNITEC, an Italian company present in Germany, with a center in Gersthofen and in Italy, with a center in Sabaudia.
This company managed to develop management software, called Virtual Logistic Platform, equipped with particular mathematical algorithms, which can manage purchases and sales in common between several companies, control accounting operations, execute operations related to documents and provide supplies for such a warehouse.
The management software developed by UNITEC provides, in fact, singular management and maintenance of the various warehouse and withdrawal operations, with bubbles controlled and invoices paid, while the client company receives a single invoice per month for all of this.
This contributes to a series of advantages, including the elimination of reordering, the maintenance of inventories calibrated according to the effective needs of each company, punctuality in deliveries, reduction or elimination of controls in individual accounting operations.
As for purchases, with this system the possibility of carrying out cumulative operations becomes effective, with the effect of obtaining better purchasing conditions. Furthermore, in case of urgency and need, material compensations between several customers can be carried out, making supplies initially intended for another customer available to the person who made the request. This type of operation also makes it possible to reduce supplies in such a way, obtaining an additional economic benefit.
