Internet Based Solutions
The understanding and development of Internet-based technologies is one of the main objectives of Unitec's research activity. Precisely thanks to the technical knowledge acquired in this field, Unitec Services & Web S.r.l. was born, created to develop new management instruments based on Internet technologies and integrate them into the offer of high-tech services that Unitec proposes to its clients from the perspective of cost optimization.
Unitec, in collaboration with Unitec Services & Web (https://usw.unitec.it), has developed a series of Internet-based solutions dedicated to purchasing departments and connected agencies, for industrial supply over the Internet and warehouse management.
The objective is to face and solve a wide range of problems of purchasing agencies in order to achieve the optimization of procedures through the following steps:
- Reduction of management costs (fax, telephone, work hours and communications);
- Consolidation and reduction of paper documentation;
- Improvement of the registration and availability of documents and information;
- Conversion of communication mode from synchronous (phone) to asynchronous (email);
- Improvement and drastic reduction of tracking;
- Independence of workplaces from their physical location;
- Homogeneity and shareability of information;
The following applications have been developed for activities: Purchasing, Supply, Warehouse, Monitoring and Reports.
The application dedicated to Purchasing Departments today allows you to consult in real time a database containing 31,258 items from 2,224 diverse suppliers (constantly updated), with relative multilingual description, and to issue supply requests in real time from anywhere in the world, at any time and in any language.
In the event that the article or supplier is not present in the database, it is nevertheless possible to send the request through a dedicated procedure.
The possibility of issuing requests via the Internet allows us to drastically replace traditional management means such as paper, fax and telephone, reducing supply costs.
Additional savings are obtained by consolidating requests, that is, having the possibility of requesting more with a single procedure from multiple suppliers.
This contributes to achieving cost optimization thanks to the dramatic reduction in the production of paper documents such as faxes and other communications.
The workplace is available anywhere and in a personalized way and therefore independent of the physical location in which it is located.
Even in the event of unavailability of a certain workplace, the continuity and usability of the service and, above all, the integrity of the data are not compromised. These arguments are one of the fundamental assumptions for the introduction of teleworking.
It is possible to issue supply requests and/or supplies via the Internet in an absolutely innovative, simple and intuitive way. It's like using the expense tool!
A few moments are enough to try and find the builder of interest and select the related items to order.
The chosen items will then be inserted into a list that can be viewed, modified in quantities, or canceled at any time.
It is not necessary to issue the request immediately. In fact, if the request is not submitted, the list will not be canceled and will remain available remotely for other work sessions... even from days or from other work locations.
As for supplies, the request occurs as for purchases, but based on the data provided by the client. Delegated agencies such as maintenance or warehouse can submit requests for replenishment of frequently reordered items.
The purchasing department then receives, if necessary, communication of the requests sent by the agencies directly to the supplier.
All clients can, depending on their own needs and level of qualification, update themselves in real time and track ongoing procedures, that is:
- Requests issued;
- Request preparation status;
- Offer Directory;
- Delivery terms;
- Orders issued;
- Shipping;
- Delivery notes;
- Billing;
Great attention and care has been given to the reports. Thanks to this application, all clients, depending on their qualification level, can receive daily, weekly or monthly reports of the procedures in progress. The report can be static or dynamic and therefore updated in real time. All these operations are always accessible at any time from anywhere regardless of the work location and therefore also during meetings, conferences and trips.
The type of report is customizable depending on the information needs and can be in both graphic and tabular formats. It is possible, based on the available data, to prepare statistics of an operational, functional and organizational nature.
Virtual Warehouse
An additional and revolutionary innovation consists of the introduction of the VIRTUAL WAREHOUSE: this concept consists of the possibility that several plants of an industrial group, or belonging to several industrial groups, share a single virtual warehouse based on real supplies.
Such supplies are physically subdivided among multiple plan participants, but can be logistically shared by all.
In this way, the knowledge of having greater emergency stocks is obtained, allowing at the same time the reduction of individual supplies below the historical minimum point of the business.
