In order to achieve these objectives, such as reducing time and costs, it is necessary to understand and adopt new means and technologies capable of eliminating problems related to communication and optimizing the work carried out, within the company, by various functions such as purchasing, procurement and warehouse.
Real-time sharing of information reduces the number of communications both inside and outside the company, with a consequent drastic reduction in all related costs (telephone, fax, working hours), procurement times and follow-up.

IT Workflow Management
Unitec has sophisticated software, developed by its team of programmers, capable of managing the entire Supply Chain Management. Each operation is managed by the IT system: from the registration of customers and suppliers, to the management of requests, from the reception of offers to the issuing of orders, invoices and reports.
The graphic aspect and workflows have been taken care of down to the smallest detail in order to allow quick and above all intuitive consultation. This is a fundamental factor since the speed of execution, control and above all the reduction in the incidence of human error depend on it.
This tool allows efficient, safe and extraordinarily fast management of all tasks. In 90% of cases the request-offer-issuing of orders takes place within a few hours over the course of a day.

Internet-Based Solutions
The understanding and development of Internet technologies represent one of the primary objectives of Unitec's research activity. Thanks to the technical knowledge acquired in this field, Unitec Services & Web S.r.l. was born, a company established with the aim of developing new management tools based on Internet technologies and integrating them into the offer of high-tech services that Unitec offers to its customers with a view to optimizing costs.
Unitec, in collaboration with Unitec Services & Web (https://usw.unitec.it), has developed a series of Internet-based solutions dedicated to purchasing offices and related agencies, for industrial procurement via the Internet and warehouse management.
The objective is to address and resolve a wide range of problems of purchasing agencies in order to achieve the optimization of procedures through the following steps:
- Reduction of management costs (fax, telephone, working hours and communications);
- Consolidation and reduction of paper documentation;
- Improvement of registration and availability of documents and information;
- Conversion of communication mode from synchronous (telephone) to asynchronous (email);
- Improvement and drastic reduction of follow up;
- Independence of workplaces from their physical location;
- Homogeneity and shareability of information;
The following applications have been developed for the activities: Purchasing, Procurement, Warehouse, Tracking and Reporting.
The application dedicated to Purchasing Offices allows you to query in real time a database containing 31,258 items from 2,224 different suppliers (constantly updated), with related multilingual descriptions, and issue supply requests in real time from any place in the world, at any time and in any language. If the item or supplier is not present in the database, it is still possible to send the request through a dedicated procedure.
The possibility of issuing requests via the Internet allows you to drastically replace traditional management means such as paper, fax and telephone, reducing supply costs. Further savings are obtained by consolidating requests, i.e. having the possibility of requesting multiple items with a single procedure from different suppliers. This helps to achieve cost optimization thanks to the drastic reduction in the production of paper documents such as faxes and other communications.
The workplace is available everywhere and in a personalized way and therefore independent of the physical location in which it is located. Even in the event of unavailability of a specific workplace, the continuity and usability of the service and, above all, the integrity of the data are not compromised. These aspects represent one of the fundamental prerequisites for the introduction of teleworking.
It is possible to issue supply and/or procurement requests via the Internet in an absolutely innovative, simple and intuitive way. It's like using a shopping catalog!
It only takes a few moments to search and find the manufacturer you are interested in and select the related items to request. The chosen items will then be placed in a list that can be viewed, modified in quantity, or deleted at any time.
You do not need to issue the request immediately. In fact, if the request is not sent, the list will not be deleted and will remain available for other work sessions... even days later or from other work places.
As regards supplies, the request is made as for purchases, but on the basis of the data provided by the customer. Delegated agencies such as maintenance or warehouse can send requests to replenish items subject to frequent reorders. The purchasing office then receives, if necessary, communication of the requests sent by the agencies directly to the supplier.
All customers can, depending on their needs and level of qualification, update in real time and track ongoing procedures, i.e.:
- Requests issued;
- Request processing status;
- List of offers;
- Delivery terms;
- Orders issued;
- Shipping;
- Bubbles;
- Billing;
Great attention and care were paid to reporting. Thanks to this application, all customers, depending on their level of qualification, can receive daily, weekly or monthly reports of the procedures in progress. Reporting can be static or dynamic and therefore updated in real time. All these operations are always accessible at any time from anywhere regardless of the workplace and therefore also during meetings, meetings and travel.
The type of reporting can be customized according to information needs and can be in both graphic and tabular format. It is possible, based on the available data, to develop operational, functional and organizational statistics.
Virtual Warehouse
A further and revolutionary innovation consists in the introduction of the VIRTUAL WAREHOUSE: this concept consists in the possibility for various factories of an industrial group, or belonging to various industrial groups, to share a unico virtual warehouse based on stocks real.
These supplies are physically divided among the various participants in the plan, but can be shared logistically by all.
In this way you are aware of having greater emergency stocks while allowing the reduction of individual stocks below the company's historical minimum point.
