1. Problem description and scope
This tutorial is devoted to the diagnosis of conveyor belt deviation that can occur during operation in industrial installations. Deviation of the tape can lead to wear of the hinges, disruption of the production process and dangerous situations. The problem is considered critical because it can cause loss of productivity and endanger personnel.
2. Safety precautions
Use of personal protective equipment: Gloves, glasses, mask and special clothing are required during diagnosis.
Energy capture: Before starting work, perform a lockout and tagout procedure on all devices to avoid unforeseen incidents.
Energy conservation: If there is no energy in the system, check for residual energy before starting.

5. Systematic flow of diagnostics
- Symptom: The tape deviates to the right.
- Diagnosis: Check the tape level.
- Result: If the level is higher than the permissible level (5 mm), adjust.
- Symptom: The tape deviates to the left.
- Diagnosis: Check the condition of the hinges.
- Result: If the hinges are worn, replace them.
- Symptom: Tape deflects in both directions.
- Diagnosis: Check the centering of the rollers.
- Result: If the rollers are not centered, adjust.

7. Analysis of the root causes of each deviation
7.1 Incorrect tape level
Incorrect tape level can occur due to incorrect adjustment or wear of the rollers. If the level of the tape is higher than 5 mm, it may cause a deviation. You can confirm with a level meter.
7.2 Worn hinges
Worn hinges cause deflection of the tape due to insufficient fixation. It can be confirmed by visual inspection or wear measurement.
7.3 Uneven rollers
Uneven rollers cause deviation due to uneven support of the tape. It can be confirmed using a vibration analyzer.
8. Step by step repair procedure
8.1 Correction of incorrect tape level
- Measure the tape level using a level meter.
- If the level exceeds 5 mm, adjust the level to the acceptable value.
- Check the level after adjustment.
8.2 Repair of worn hinges
- Perform a visual inspection of the hinges.
- If the hinges are worn, replace them with new ones.
- Check the condition of the hinges after replacement.
8.3 Fixing uneven rollers
- Measure the eccentricity of the rollers.
- If the rollers are not centered, adjust.
- Check the centering of the rollers after adjustment.
