1. Task and purpose
This technical manual is intended for testing the emergency stop circuit in industrial equipment. The purpose of this maintenance is to ensure the functional efficiency of the emergency stop system, measure the response time and document the results. This service is performed during placement, periodic maintenance, or after any changes in wiring, electronic modules, or mechanical components of the stop system.
2. Preliminary safety measures
Warning: Before performing any actions, turn off the power of the system and apply lockout and tagout (Lockout/Tagout). Use protective equipment, including work gloves, goggles, and protective clothing.
All actions should be performed only when the power supply is completely disconnected. It is prohibited to perform work on live elements. Before starting work, it is necessary to check for the presence of electrical tension.

5. Passport procedure
- Emergency stop connection installation
Connect the electrical wires to the emergency stop test assembly. Use a multimeter to check that the connection is correct. All contacts must be clean and meet EN 60364. standards
Bug: Incorrect connection may result in incorrect response time measurements or poor functional testing.
- Measuring electrical resistance
Measure the resistance between the emergency stop contacts. Resistance values should be less than 0.1 Ohm. Use the multimeter in resistance (Ω) mode.
Error: High resistance may indicate a lack of contact or damaged wires.
- Response time measurement
Try activating the emergency stop manually or using a test signal. Start a timer on activation and stop it on system response. The response time should not exceed 0.5 seconds.
Bug: Using the wrong timer can lead to incorrect measurement.
- Perform functional check
Perform the emergency stop system start and stop cycle. Check that the system answers all calls. Measure the temperature at the emergency stop contacts - it should not exceed 45°C.
Error: No response may indicate a misconfiguration or malfunction.
- Documentation of results
Record all parameters: resistance, response time, temperature. Keep documentation in electronic form or in traditional paper form. All data must be in accordance with ISO 9001. standards
Error: Lack of documentation may lead to lack of compliance and liability.
