1. Scope and purpose

This manual is intended for the maintenance of industrial coatings used in production environments. It includes checking the epoxy coating, the condition of the expansion joints and the drainage system. This maintenance is performed regularly to ensure the safety, performance and durability of the coatings. Coatings should be checked before starting the production process or after detecting deviations from normal operation.

2. Preliminary safety measures

Important: Before starting any work, perform the procedure of blocking and tagging all energy sources to prevent unforeseen events. Use personal protective equipment (protective gloves, eyes, breathing masks, special shoes).

When using chemical liquids (such as solvents or disinfectants), use additional protective equipment and work in a well-ventilated area. Remove all potentially dangerous tools from the work area and place a fence around the work area.

3. Necessary tools and materials

Name of the tool Specification Quantity
Microscope with 10x magnification It is required for inspecting the surface and detecting scratches and cracks 1
Torque screwdriver with different threads For fixing or unscrewing knots 1
A ruler with a resolution of 0.1 mm To measure the dimensions of expansion joints 1
Aqualite (foam) for drainage For filling and restoration of drainage seams 1
Distance ring To measure the distance between seams 1
Dry filter To clean the surface before applying an epoxy coating 1
Disinfectant For cleaning the surface from bacteria, moisture, dust 1

4. Pre-service: Inspection

Point Verification Assessment Notes
Epoxy coating The presence of cracks, defects, chips It is accepted The coating should be even, without defects
Expansion seams Composition, size, moisture It is accepted Seams must be clean, without moisture
Drainage system The presence of outflow, the absence of deposits It is accepted Drainage should be clean, without deposits
The humidity of the coating Humidity measurement It is accepted Maximum humidity — 15%
Security structure Availability of fences It is accepted Definitely

5. Step by step: Procedure

  1. Cleaning the surface

Use a dry filter to clean the surface from dust, moisture and other debris. Measure the surface moisture using the moisture change. Humidity should be less than 15%.

Error: Do not use liquid without ventilation.

  2. Epoxy Inspection

Use a 10x microscope to inspect the surface. Detect chips, cracks, defects. Determine the evenness of the coverage.

    Error: Don't use uneven surfaces.

  3. Measuring Expansion Joints

Use a ruler with a resolution of 0.1 mm to measure the size of expansion joints. They should be within 1-5 mm. Determine the humidity of the seams.

Error: Do not use seams with moisture more than 20%.

  4. Drainage system

Use Aqualite to fill drainage seams. Check for drainage. Measure the humidity of the drainage system.

Error: Do not use uncleaned drainage seams.

  5. Security structure

Check for fences. Install a fence if there is none.

    Error: Don't use open workspaces.

6. After-service: Inspection

Test Expected result Actual Pass/Fail
Surface moisture Less than 15%
Evenness of coverage The surface is flat
Seam size 1-5 mm
Drainage outflow Happening
Security structure Available

7. Technical support: Debugging table

Symptom Probable cause Corrective action
The surface is uneven Since, cracks Remove chips, use Aqualite
There is no outflow Contaminated drainage seams Clean the seams, use aqualite
Surface moisture Humidity more than 15% Use a disinfectant
The seams are wet The humidity of the seams is more than 20% Use a dry filter
The presence of deposits Leakage of liquid Remove deposits, use Aqualite

8. Recommended maintenance schedule

The task Frequency Estimate duration Skill level
Surface cleaning Monthly 30 min Average
Inspection of epoxy coating Quarterly 1 hour Average
Measurement of expansion joints Quarterly 1 hour Average
Drainage system monthly 30 min Average
Security structure monthly 15 min Average
