1. Label and purpose
This manual offers practical methods for maintaining the belt conveyor to ensure reliable and efficient system operation. It is designed to perform maintenance on the belt conveyor, including adjusting the traction layer, checking the connection, measuring the belt tension and replacing the rollers. Maintenance is performed when uneven movement of the tape, explosion, energy consumption or during scheduled maintenance is detected.
2. Security
Turn off the power supply and lock the mechanism before working.
Use special clothing, gloves and eye protection against dust.
Do not perform maintenance under pressure or under load.
3. Tools and materials
| Tool | Specification | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Torque wrench | The range is 10–100 Nm | 1 |
| Multimeter | Micrometer, resistance measurement | 1 |
| A laser for measuring centration | Maximum 20 m | 1 |
| Key with external end | The range is 6–20 mm | 1 |
| Measuring tape | Maximum 3 m | 1 |
| Protective mask | From dust | 1 |
| Special lining | To support the tape | 2 |
4. Check list before service
| Item | Verification | Acceptance/rejection criteria | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Power is off | Device readings are turned off | Use a locking system |
| 2 | The tape is not open | Tape fixed | Use a special substrate |
| 3 | Mechanical connections are disabled | Disabled and fixed | Use a pad |
| 4 | Devices are fixed | The readings correspond to the technical data | Use a multimeter |
5. Step by step procedure
Traction layer adjustment
- Action: Use the laser to measure centration.
- Data: Centering should not exceed 0.1 mm.
- Visual sign: The tape has smooth movement.
- Error: Incorrect measurement can cause uneven movement.
-
Checking the connection
- Action: Open the ribbon and check the connection.
- Data: Connections must be stable, without cracks.
- Visual sign: Non-cracks, lack of moisture.
- Error: Returning the connection without checking may result in a leak.
-
Tension measurement
- Action: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage.
- Data: The tension should be within 10–20 Nm.
- Visual sign: The tension is stable, without fluctuations.
- Error: An incorrect measurement can lead to an explosion.
-
Replacement of rollers
- Action: Open the video, delete the old one and insert the new one.
- Data: The new roller must meet the technical data (diameter 50 mm).
- Visual sign: The roller is installed correctly.
- Error: Incorrect installation of the roller can lead to uneven movement.
6. After service check
| Test | Expected result | Actual | Pass/No |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tension in the range of 10–20 Nm | Measure it | |
| 2 | Centering no more than 0.1 mm | Measure it | |
| 3 | Joint without cracks | Check it out | |
| 4 | The roller is installed correctly | Check it out |
7. Troubleshooting
| Symptom | A possible reason | Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven movement | Incorrect tension measurement | Measure the tension |
| explosion | Failed to install the video | Check the video |
| Energy consumption | Incorrect centration measurement | Measure the centering |
| Wet tape | Wrong connection | Check the connection |
8. Recommended maintenance schedule
| Task | Frequency | Estimated duration | Skill level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adjustment of traction layer | Monthly | 30 min | Average |
| Checking the connection | Monthly | 20 min | Low |
| Tension measurement | Monthly | 20 min | Average |
| Replacement of rollers | Annually | 2 hours | Tall |
